My Story
I have always been interested in gardening and started my first garden in 2012. The main reason was I wanted healthier food that wasn't sprayed with chemicals. I was buying organic fertilizers from big box stores and didn't fully understand what I was buying or how it was made. Long story short I realized that was not organic gardening and was unsustainable. From 2012 to 2020 I had gardens in different spots since I never owned my own land. When I finally purchased a house with 5 acres in 2020, I could finally get serious about farming. I bought chickens and ducks, and I started a garden and planted different types of fruit trees. I was mowing people's lawns for money, and I would always rake up the grass and bring it home with me. One day I came home and saw the pile of grass steaming and that was when I realized how to make compost. Only problem was the grass I was collecting had been sprayed with chemicals. I also realized the straw I used for my chickens was sprayed with herbicide. It was then I realized I had to be more careful on where I was getting my farm supplies. I found a feed store with non-GMO feed. They also had straw and hay available with nothing sprayed on it. I begin collecting my own grass. I bought a chipper to chip my own wood. I bought a push mower with a bagger and later a lawn mower with a bagger. Now I am constantly building compost piles on my land that I trust. Spring of 2024 I bought 1000 red wigglers and 300 African night crawlers. I begin feeding my compost to my worms and then collected their castings. And now here I am supplying other gardeners with some of the best compost and worm castings money can buy.
